Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is processed when you visit the English pages of Tooljip (tooljip.com), including the Tooljip Blog, and the choices you have. Tooljip is operated by an individual based in South Korea ("we", "us"). Questions can be sent to [email protected].
1. Information we collect
Tooljip has no user accounts, sign-up forms, or comment system. We do not ask for your name, address, or phone number. The following information may be processed automatically:
- Server and security logs: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and time of request, processed by our hosting provider Cloudflare, Inc. to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
- Cookies and similar technologies used by Google for advertising and analytics, described below.
- Emails you send us: your email address and message, used only to reply.
2. Settings stored on your device
Your dark-mode preference is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device, and you can clear it at any time by deleting site data in your browser.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which pays for running the site.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
4. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find them. It records pages viewed, time on page, scrolling and outbound clicks, approximate location (country or city level), device and browser type, and the referring website. We do not use it to identify you personally. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies.
5. Consent in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google's advertising and analytics storage is set to "denied" by default (Google Consent Mode). A consent message from a Google-certified consent management platform asks for your choice, and cookies for personalized ads or analytics are used only if you agree. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the privacy settings link shown on the site or by clearing your cookies.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for advertising and analytics cookies, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure for server logs.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Residents of some US states may have the right to opt out of targeted advertising; you can do so through Google Ads Settings, the industry opt-out links above, or a browser-level signal such as Global Privacy Control where supported. We do not sell personal information for money.
Because we do not keep user profiles, most data related to your visit is held by Google and Cloudflare. To make a request, email us and we will help, including by pointing you to the right controls.
7. International processing
Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States and other countries. These providers use legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for international transfers.
8. Retention
Emails are kept for up to one year after we reply, then deleted. Log and cookie data are retained according to the policies of Cloudflare and Google.
9. Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date below shows the latest version.
